Stage One: Set up the task. It helps students brainstorm the existence knowledge and vocabulary they have on the topic. Besides, using debate as the speaking task can help generate their interest.

Stage 4 of the activity consisted of the students using the alternative adjectives they brainstormed for "bad" and "good" and give their opinion about running. I heard one student say "Running has many advantages." This final stage is the final task where the students put all they have learned into use. This activity also encouraged them to say why it's "good" or "bad."
At the end of class, you asked what they really thought of running.
Ok, I understand what you mean by activity cycle now, but the only problem I'm still having is identifying the stages clearly. I tried my best to find stages 3 and 4...we will see. Thanks for answering my question!
Thank you, Jane, I just realised that. I'm doing a speaking activity in this video. But it consists of 4 stages within one activity. I guess "activity cycle" made sence in my head but it doesn't really mean anything. It is basically 4 stages of one activity. Did it help to understand the task?
Sorry, Natalia, could you clarify - I'm not entirely sure the topic of this video. On the sheet I have it says, "Watch the video and discover the 4 steps of the activity cycle." - what do you mean by "activity cycle"? Perhaps you could shed light on this?
