Hi Joanna. Excellent video –clear explanations, engaging visuals and fun music with great examples of eliciting. You can really see the student improving in pronunciation in just 3 minutes. Well done. I hope you’re able to use this as to train all the teachers at the online center.

Hi Joanna,

This is a superb piece of work! You fulfill the criteria of the TESOL diploma presentation, and even go the extra mile by referring to Underhill's approach to pronunciation. You highlighted the kinesthetic, visual and auditory aspects of pronunciation which have been a key feature of discussions in the Advanced Phonology Course forum and demonstrated how this works in the online classroom. You also relate the pronunciation problem to recent course materials and demonstrate how to support students through discovery and game activities - all of which is neatly packaged in the professional presentation you created.

It's worth nothing that in exam conditions, it's likely that the examiner will go on to ask you whether there were other pairings of monophthongs that Chinese learners struggle with and why.
