Hello Katie,

I really enjoyed this activity, using a chant to really emphasize stress in a particular place. The rhythm is great too, putting it in a particular pattern. Actually, there was a guy who was tapping his foot to the beat, which seemed to be helping him place the stress.

I like how the lesson is set up, listening first to the music first, then chanting with it, then adding a kinesthetic element. Something you might want to do next time is model the ball passing activity before having the students do it themselves. There seemed to be some confusion between them on when to pass.

I really liked this activity! If I can find a similar recording, I would like to try something like it at the center where I work.

Hey Katie,

Great video! I really enjoyed the idea of Jazz Chants and how you adapted it for your students' needs. This was well organized and you did a great job presenting the topic. I like how you can do it with a small or large group of students, that makes it a very versatile option for teaching.
