Hi everyone! Just wondering if anybody in Shanghai or arriving soon can help. My doctor advised me that I should get a number of vaccinations before travelling to China. I got a couple through the NHS however theres a number of other ones that I have to pay for. Is it entirely necessary? Atm it just seems like another expense if I could just get them when I arrive in China. Did anyone else get vaccinated before arriving?

Hi Jessica, thanks for this. I've had all my childhood vaccinations plus I got another two the other day so I think i'll just leave the other 4.

I asked my recruiter about this earlier last week. She said it wasn’t completely necessary. She arrived in March & hadn’t gotten hers. And that it was up to me if it would make me feel more at ease. Since I’m set to leave in 3 weeks I decided against getting them. Some of them require a 2nd dose 6months later & I won’t even be in the states. I wouldn’t want to get the 2nd dose from a different source (just personally). Also that Japanese JE shot costs 335$. So I think it all depends on what you’re comfortable with. Personally, I got all my vaccines as a child/teen/adult. I think I’ll be fine without these extra 7.
