Just thought I'd introduce myself properly; I commented on a few blog entries already so you might recognise my face...
I'm Keir Robinson from Scotland; after some paperwork hitches I eventually managed to get everything submitted and now awaiting my work permit (so I can get the visa), which we're hoping will arrive in time for an expected arrival date of September 12th. I'll be working in the Kids & Teens division.
Obviously I did the Foundation TEFL…Continue

I will be teaching kids and teens, arriving in September. I'm willing to room with someone that is teaching with me at the same center. I saw a beautiful house In Guangzhou online that had five bedrooms and three baths, but I'm sure it will be taken or just a prop. Anyone in Guangzhou, now ? IS the arrival date the day we start teaching or need to be in china, Also can we go a week before our due date to get set up ? How many suitcases can we bring, I have a…Continue
Hope you've managed to get your visas sorted and you're feeling excited about the upcoming adventure.
I am putting this out there as I want to connect with others who are starting to prepare to travel out like me or those who are already working in China. It's not long now before I start my journey to Guangzhou and it's both exciting and nerve-wracking. Definitely want to get to know some of you before I travel out.
Anyway, feel free to get in touch. It'll be…Continue
Hi, I'm Jess! If my visa documents stay on track I should be moving out to Beijing sometime in September. I'd like to do my research ahead of time so I'm not frantic for a place to stay when I get there. Can anyone out there give me advice on the best neighborhoods to look for an in an apartment in or an agent they'd recommend. Even general advice about the teaching hotel and my experience there will be like would be helpful.

Sometimes in life we face challenges, but do we be chicken about it and run or do we face the challenges, find solutions and grow our weaknesses into strengths. I feel the biggest challenge I am faced with at the moment is accepting that I am exposed to a new environment but I believe that one thing that should not have changed is work culture and standards. I believe every organization should hold the highest level of integrity, treat their employees fairly, show support, offer…Continue

Will anyone be arriving in Shenzhen in September?
Hello, my name is Hailey, and I was wondering if there was anyone that will be leaving to Beijing around the same time as me. Would like to connect with other teachers before arriving at Beijing!
. I have two regrets in life : Not becoming a MarineMP and a school teacher. Well , now I can fulfill my dream of being a teacher. I always talked about becoming a teacher when i was in grade school. My mother told me I would play by myself under our house for hours playing teacher. Then the police academy movies came out and my sister went to the marines, so I wanted to be a marine and a police officer.
I took the placement test for the marines and I passed . I thought I was…Continue
I have lived all my life in London UK. I have travelled and spent some a month or so in other countries. But my main point is that I feel once you live in a western country such as the UK you become accustomed to how there is a system, how everything is organised and well quite frankly it becomes very very difficult for you to move to a country that is not developed or western such as the UK.
I need some advice regarding my ambition of living and teaching…Continue
