Nice to meet you!
My name's Charlotte, I'm 28 and from the UK. I applied to teach Kids and Teens with EF back in January and was accepted to teach in a place called Fuzhou (near Taiwan) starting 3rd May. Obviously that date has passed - hence the blog title- and I was just wondering how many other people are in a similar situation wherein their arrival date has been postponed.
So far I have ticked the following EF…Continue

Hello everyone :)
I'm heading out to Hangzhou in mid-late June and was wondering if anyone else was heading out there or who is there already. Also looking for tips on what to take out. Just to introduce myself I am from the UK and I have a BA in archaeology from Cardiff, UK and then studied for an MA in World Heritage Studies in Cottbus, Germany where I also taught English as a foreign language. Taking some time out to teach English whilst hopefully doing some more research into…Continue

Hi all, I will be coming to Shanghai On July 18 to arrive on July 19. My questions are as follows:
A) I was only given a 10 facts study guide to use for the China TEFL exams. This study guide I found not to be quite resourceful. Are there any other study guides/tools/ resources to use for this these exams? My second set of exams come out in May.…Continue
Hello, my name is Jake and I will be going to Chengdu In June. Anyone else going to Chengdu?
Anyone already there that can give me some information about Chengdu? Such as, things to do, places I should look for apartments near the centre, etc?
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
My name is Alexis, I'm 21 years old, freshly graduated from college as of 3 months ago, and I'm headed to Shanghai to teach in August 2017.
I just graduated with my Bachelor's in Human Services with plans to start graduate school to get my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. Before I even started, I was burnt out from already working in the field. I came to the miserable realization that I had just spent 3 and 1/2 years working towards…Continue
So is it better to have a roommate or no? I see a lot of roommate posts, but does anyone live by themselves? Is the rent too expensive?
I am moving out of my apartment and I need someone to take over the lease. The apartment is on 123 yanping road in Jing'an. There are grocery stores, convenient stores, bars and a gym just outside the apartment. 15 minute walk to EF headquarters (convenient to join the Chinese lessons and wellness classes). It is also easy to get around. 10 minute walk to Jing'an Temple (line 2,7) and 7 minutes walk to Changping (line 7).The room has big windows (balcony room) and receives good sunlight. You…Continue

I am excited to be joining the EF team!! I will be working at the online center in Shanghai starting next week. It is crazy how time flies! Is there anyone in Shanghai looking for a roommate or do you have any tips to help me find an apartment? Any information would be helpful! I see a lot of people are starting this journey in the next few months. I am rooting for you! Enjoy the adventure while you can.
Ok, well I'm not actually in Chengdu yet. I will be from April 2017, though. Currently going through the visa process and studying for the Foundation TEFL over at training.ef.com - if anyone else is doing the same, get in touch and maybe we can help each other out, whether it's to do with the material itself or just the occasional nudge for motivation to keep our progress on track.
This will actually be my second time heading to China for a teaching role, though it is my first…Continue
Hi to my fellow teachers
Things are getting really exciting now, or they are when I think about my new venture and new adventure soon to begin in Shanghai. There have been such a lot of emotions felt in this process of joining EF. just for background, this is my first appointment as an ESL teacher, I have in the past been involved with training within business, everything from skills training to organisational change and I loved it, it was great. There has been the excitement…Continue

I'm so excited to join the EF team in Beijing! More nerves are surfacing but its all part of the excitement. Packing started and at first was way too much but I've got it down to about two bags! I've been so crazy busy trying to finish my job here in the states which involved the election that I really haven't been doing the networking I should have. So, with that said, if there is anyone arriving at the same time, let me know. I have been toying with the idea of a roommate and I will have…Continue

Beyond excited about teaching in Beijing, China. I'm curious about the adjustments I'll have to make but I'm ready and open to change. Can anyone share their first day experiences or anything noteworthy?
From Memphis,TN to Beijing, China August 2017
since I will be starting my employment with EF in March, would anyone be willing to provide me with some good places to move into an apartment in Shanghai? or perhaps, are there any teachers that are going to Shanghai about the same time as me who would be willing to share living in an apartment?
