My name is Kyla Bivins, and I am scheduled to move to Shanghai in mid to late August. (I am still waiting for my visa to process by the Chinese Gov, so I am not sure about the exact date).
I was wondering if anybody was looking for a house/suit/ room mate this upcoming school year?
Let me know :)

Sometimes in life we face challenges, but do we be chicken about it and run or do we face the challenges, find solutions and grow our weaknesses into strengths. I feel the biggest challenge I am faced with at the moment is accepting that I am exposed to a new environment but I believe that one thing that should not have changed is work culture and standards. I believe every organization should hold the highest level of integrity, treat their employees fairly, show support, offer…Continue

Anyone heading to Beijing (or there now) into bodybuilding or powerlifting? I've read the gyms aren't that great and are expensive over there. Just want to network with other gym folks and see the lay of the land.
Hello, my name is Hailey, and I was wondering if there was anyone that will be leaving to Beijing around the same time as me. Would like to connect with other teachers before arriving at Beijing!
. I have two regrets in life : Not becoming a MarineMP and a school teacher. Well , now I can fulfill my dream of being a teacher. I always talked about becoming a teacher when i was in grade school. My mother told me I would play by myself under our house for hours playing teacher. Then the police academy movies came out and my sister went to the marines, so I wanted to be a marine and a police officer.
I took the placement test for the marines and I passed . I thought I was…Continue
I have lived all my life in London UK. I have travelled and spent some a month or so in other countries. But my main point is that I feel once you live in a western country such as the UK you become accustomed to how there is a system, how everything is organised and well quite frankly it becomes very very difficult for you to move to a country that is not developed or western such as the UK.
I need some advice regarding my ambition of living and teaching…Continue

Anyone have a good VPN recommendation? I am shopping around for VPNS and the best ones seem to be Astril, Express VPN, TorVPN, Purevpn, I don't mind paying for one because the free ones are not that great..
Nice to meet you!
My name's Charlotte, I'm 28 and from the UK. I applied to teach Kids and Teens with EF back in January and was accepted to teach in a place called Fuzhou (near Taiwan) starting 3rd May. Obviously that date has passed - hence the blog title- and I was just wondering how many other people are in a similar situation wherein their arrival date has been postponed.
So far I have ticked the following EF…Continue

Just to introduce myself I am from the UK and I have a BA in archaeology from Cardiff, UK and then studied for an MA in World Heritage Studies in Cottbus, Germany where I also taught English as a foreign language. Taking some time out to teach English whilst hopefully doing some more research into…Continue
