I was wondering was anyone else trying to learn Mandarin before they leave. If you would like to have casual conversation or just share notes... message me!
I leave out in October, so I want to at least know something before I leave!

Hello EF Teachers,
If any one has any questions about the on-boarding process, what to expect, or just generalized questions feel free to ask on this post. I have been in Shanghai for about three weeks and I work in the Kids Online department of EF. Currently, we are based at the Shanghai HQ , but will be moving to our new office space in the Pudong area. I know a lot of you have questions or maybe you feel like your situation is different than everyone else. Please feel free…Continue
I'm Ariel from, and greetings from the Lone Star State of Texas (Houston to be more specific) I'm very excited and also nervous about coming and living in Shenzhen this coming June 2018. I've been a busy Bee since accepting the offer, and can't wait to meet the rest of my Shenzhen/ EF Family. I've never been outside of the US before, but I'm very much looking forward to exploring and partaking in this great adventure. As you can tell I like to add a touch of humor to the…Continue
My training class has been here for a couple of days now and it's awesome! Don't get me wrong, there are lots of people and the air quality could be better. But the food though! :) The Chinese nationals that we have interacted with in the community have been helpful and very friendly. I have had a few people attempt to speak English with me just to say hi. We went out to eat last night, armed with only our smart phone translation apps and a piece of paper. The poor girl that took our order…Continue

Was wondering whether anyone is moving to July, my official move date is the 25th July but it would be great to speak to a few people moving around that date. I also need to think about where I want to live i'm guessing! Feel free to add me as a friend and pop up for a chat!
My name is Lexi. My arrival date isn't finalized yet, but I am hoping to be in China by May-ish, I've got all my documents in and now it's just a waiting game. I will be living and teaching in Foshan, and I had two questions:
1. Is anyone near there who wants to get in contact?
2. Is anyone paying student loans from China? I am worried about getting money from China to the US to pay mine!
Thank you for reading,

Hello! My name is Nadia Essien and I'm arriving in Shenzhen on the 17th. Haven't seen too many people specify Shenzhen so I'm just curious to see who all I'll be getting to know! I'm from Atlanta, studied journalism and political science at Georgia State, and am really excited for this opportunity! I'm toying with the idea of a roommate to save on costs; I guess it depends on the market and what is available when we get there, but if you're interested let me know!
I can't believe it's finally happening, but I'll be landing in Guangzhou on January 17. Will anyone else be arriving in China that day?

I'm currently due to arrive in Beijing by January 17th and I am super excited and also a bit nervous lol. I'll be working in the EF Kids & Teens division, is anyone else set to arrive that date? Will love to hear from you guys.
I hope all is well! Due to visa processing my new date of arrival for Beijing will be early January! Although I am very excited to begin this new journey, I am glad I will be able to spend the holidays with family and friends. Just in time for Chinese New Year in February!
Anyone departing in January?
Thank you so much for your interest in my blog post! I wanted to add a little about me so maybe we can be friends. As you can tell by my post title, I love languages. I am an American born Chinese and currently living in the United States. This will change hopefully by January 2018! I am suppose to be in Guangzhou then so I am totally stoked.
Hmm. Let's see. What else about me? I really enjoy:
My name is Keith Downing and I am scheduled to start teaching in Shanghai at the end of November. I believe my date will be pushed back as the document authentication took longer than originally expected. I am excited to continue this process now that I have all of my documents uploaded and authenticated. Over the last few weeks I reviewed many other blogs looking for insights on the obstacles others have faced while completing the tasks set by EF. I…Continue
