Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test: Young Learners
TKT YL (Young Learners) is a specialist module of the Cambridge ESOL Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) that focuses on teaching young learners aged 6-12. This award will increase your confidence as a teacher and help you progress in your teaching career. All EF kids teachers are required to take this certification.
TKT YL tests knowledge of:
- young learners and the principles of teaching English to children
- how to plan young learner lessons
- teaching young learners
- assessing young learner learning

This module tests your knowledge of the terms and concepts common in English language teaching. It also focuses on the core knowledge underpinning the learning of English and knowledge of the options and resources you can use in the classroom. All EF Professional English teachers are required to take this certification.
TKT: Module 1 consists of a single paper lasting 80 minutes and containing 80 questions. The test is divided into three parts:
