Writing Lesson Aims

Trainees will learn to include an example of target language, says what learners will be able to do at the end of the lesson and the situation in which students will be able to do this in their lesson aims.

 

Trainees will try writing a lesson aim which contains an example of target language, says what learners will be able to do at the end of the lesson and the situation in which they’ll be able to do this based on an EF lesson. They'll recive feedback on this from their peers and trainers.

Giving Instructions

Trainees will learn how to give clear instructions by getting learners attention, giving graded instructions, giving a demonstration, checking understanding and lastly handing out materials and grouping learners last.

Trainees will learn to speak slowly, use visual cues, avoid complex grammar and low frequency vocabulary when speaking to lower level learners.
 
 
Trainees will practice to speaking slowly, using visual cues, using simple grammar and high frequency vocabulary when speaking to lower level learners with their peers and recieve feedback from their peers.
 
 
Trainees will grade their language during a mico teaching lesson.

Raising Intercultural Awareness

Trainees will learn that assumptions made by people from different cultures may cause misunderstanding and miscommunication and it is important to work on three areas to become interculturally competent: attitude, knowledge and behavior.

 

Trainees will try the intercultural competence toolkit by analyzing case studies to form the habit of not making assumptions quickly and become more aware of their attitude, knowledge about the host culture and behavior.

 

Trainees will use the intercultural competence toolkit to help themselves with everyday living and working in China.  

 

Communicating Effectively with Co-workers

Trainees will learn what impact culture has on communication process and the ways how Chinese people communicate by case studies.

 

Trainees will try switching their communication styles or adapt their approach by taking cultural, personal and situational factors into consideration.

 

Trainees will adapt their approach and style when communicating with people from different cultures.

 

Building up Rapport at Workplace

Trainees will learn that it is very important to build up rapport with colleagues and customers and what they can do to help build up rapport at workplace.

 

Trainees will try different ways of building up rapport with customers and their colleagues at workplace.
