Originally from New Zealand, Murray has been involved in the EFL industry, as teacher and manager, for over twenty years. Prior to heeding the call of the language classroom, he worked as an Assistant Lecturer in English at the University of Auckland, as an editor and actor and, less probably, as a mortgage broker. He has been with EFEC Beijing, as a manager at centre and regional level, since 2008. Murray holds a CELTA, a PhD in English literature and a current but largely useless New Zealand driver’s licence.

Darren Povey (Senior Production Manager - Kids & Teens)
Darren started his teaching career in 2004 with EF and joined the EF Beijing Kids and Teens owned team in 2008. He has extensive experience teaching all age groups and has grown through the EF academic pathway from teacher to his current position as Senior Production Manager. Darren holds the International Diploma in Language Teaching Management and in his current role, he supports the academic and operations of schools across Beijing. He ensures high academic management and teaching quality, successful program and project implementation and effective and efficient operations.
Special interests: Project Management, Performance Management, Phonology and Teaching Young Learners
Cynthia Scott (Production Manager - Kids & Teens)
After finishing a Masters in English Language and Literature in 2006, Cynthia travelled to Gwangju, South Korea to teach Kids for a year at a Hagwon. Over the course of a year she travelled through over 10 different countries across Asia before moving to Beijing to teach at an International Montessori Kindergarten. In search of a professional and employee development-driven company, she joined EF Kids and Teens Beijing in the summer of 2009. Since then she has worked her way from Teacher, Senior Teacher, Associate DoS, DoS, Senior DoS, to Production Manager in 2013. She has worked in 5 different schools across Beijing and now oversees 6 schools as Production Manager. She holds a TEFL, multiple TKT certificates (YL, Modules 1, 2, 3) and is currently taking the IDLTM course (International Diploma in Language Teaching Management).

Rob Hatt (Production Manager - Kids & Teens)
After graduating from the University of Exeter, Rob completed his TEFL with EF in the United Kingdom and joined EF Harbin in 2004. Since 2009 he has been working in EF Beijing as teacher, Senior Teacher, DoS, Senior DoS and Production Manager.
Over that time he has gained much experience with all age groups, both teaching and in helping others to teach. As DoS he has inducted over 80 teachers across the Beijing region. He was co-creator of the very successful Global Students Leaders Academy course designed to develop teenage students’ presentation, critical thinking and research skills. He holds a Masters in Translation from the University of Middlesex and is currently working on the International Diploma in Language Teaching Management.
Special Interests: young learner motivation and progress; management and staff development.
Tracy has been working in education industry over 10 years since she graduated with a degree in English Education . Before joining EF, she taught in a respected High School in Beijing . This experience enriched her professional knowledge and skills in terms of teaching young learners.
Tracy holds Diploma in TESOL, Trinity College London; qualifications in Teaching Young Learners, Cambridge University and National English Teaching Qualification in PRC, China. She is a Course Director on the Trinity Certificate in TESOL (Level 5 UKNQF) and a Diploma in TESOL (Level 7 UKNQF) trainer and Internal Assessor approved by Trinity College UK, a TKT Practical assessor approved by Cambridge English Language Assessment. Tracy is the most experienced CertTESOL trainer who has organized and worked in the CertTESOL courses across China (Beijing, Shanghai,Guangzhou). Since 2007, her role at EF has been changed from Teacher, Senior Teacher, Centre Education Manager in EF English Centers for Adult Learners to the Regional Trainer position.

Emily is a typical northern girl in China, who was born, raised and went to university in the north. After working as a teacher for a couple of years, she joined EF and really enjoys working here. She knows the best museums in Beijing and would like to show you around while you are here! Forbidden City is always her favorite scenic spot in Beijing and she could keep telling stories about it for hours!
Leonie Yu (visa supervisor)
Leonie, a spicy girl comes from the beautiful city Chengdu located in the South West of China. After being a CR for a Kids & Teen School in Beijing for a year, she joined TRT team as a visa officer. Growing up in the land of abundance, Leonie is keen on playing mahjong, and cannot live without spicy food; hot-pot is her favourite. In her free time, Leonie always tries different sports, swimming, ping-pong, tennis, badminton, etc. She is not good at any of the sports, just playing for fun and health.
Lisa graduated from the School of Journalism and Mass communication at Renmin University with a degree in advertising. Prior to joining EF, she was an editor/reporter working for the CCTV website. Following that she worked as a marketing assistant for a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong. She then turned her attention to English teaching, joining EF after completing her CELTA course at the Beijing Language Link School. In 2014, Lisa joined the TRT Engagement Team as Beijing’s Localization Trainer with her main areas of focus being teaching in Chinesetown, organizing Chinese cultural events for teachers and supporting TRT sponsored EF teacher events.
