About Englishtown 

Englishtown is the world's largest online language school and division of EF, with over three million students worldwide. Our teachers play a key role at Englishtown, enabling our students to put what they have learnt online and in class into practice in the real world.

An innovative way of teaching

Instead of meeting up in a real-life classroom with whiteboards and desks, classes are conducted through voice and video through a special platform on Adobe Connect. Teachers must be able to apply traditional learning methods and think creatively in order to effectively use the virtual classroom tools.

A diverse classroom

Our students are of all ages and backgrounds, from middle school students to retirees. Online group lessons and private one-to-one lessons make a typical day in the Englishtown Center very different from most traditional schools. Each class is typically 40-45 minutes and lessons include general English topics and specialized courses in business and aviation. The constant change in the classroom environment allows teachers to enjoy the challenge of teaching a variety of classes daily.

A great sense of community

China's Englishtown division is based in Shanghai and located in bustling Pudong, minutes away from iconic sights such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Jin Mao Tower. Our center is small but rapidly growing, and our supportive community of teachers from all over the world allow for an enriching experience both online and offline.
