Hi everyone

Would anyone like to share some of their favourite Shanghai websites with erveyone else on this forum? Which websites have you found most useful for finding flatmates, eating out, partying, etc.?

Great idea, Ross. I've been bookmarking some myself but would like to hear from you guys. So far I only have shanghaiexpat.com, entershanghai.info, and smartshanghai.com.

Thanks a lot Michael - I've added those here.

Below is the "guide" that i give teachers once they arrive in the Shang, but i think it would be really helpful for them to get started on research before too!

Jaimee’s Shanghai Cheat Sheet

Helpful websites
Housing, metro map, addresses in Chinese AND English, hilarity in the form of articles: www.smartshanghai.com

Events, nightlife, music: www.shanghaiist.com

Events, deals, reviews, articles: www.cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai/

Housing, stuff for sale, etc. www.craigslist.com.cn

EF email (when not on EF computer): mail.ef.com

Metro map with times (there’s an app for that): www.exploreshanghai.com/metro/

Helpful phone numbers:

Shanghai Helpline (24 hrs):  962288

Guanxi (text in English, get English and Chinese addresses):  106695882929

Here are a few I didn't see listed yet:

TimeOut Shanghai

Moving to China Blog (not always Shanghai-specific, but still useful)

Shanghai Weather

Shanghai Dolls - Shanghai social network (though mostly geared towards females)

Thanks Rose

Smart Shanghai and City Weekend are great for nightlife/events.  But these are two that no one listed:

Flatmates: Craigslist

 EnjoyShanghai.com

There is also

shanghaistuff.com

And for the bus routes there is

http://msittig.wubi.org/bus/

If you're interested in swing dancing:

http://shanghaiswings.weebly.com/

Don't forget http://www.echinacities.com/shanghai/ - news and other stuff on there (though it's still not as popular as some of the other sites dedicated purely to Shanghai as eChinaCities covers a range of cities).
