Hello! I'm planning to arrive in Shanghai and teach at the Kids and Teens Center in July, 2018. Anyone arriving then/ Any hiking lovers out there??

Hi, all. I'm also scheduled to arrive in Shanghai at the end of February (due date 28th). I'm heading out from Newcastle, England and I'll be teaching in an online-based training centre. I'm also looking for a roommate or two to save some cash.

I'm 24, I have a background in IT and games development, I'm into rock/alternative music (I'll be sure to keep it quiet), I'm very much into gaming (though I intend to spend a lot less time gaming whilst in Shanghai and do a lot more exploring on my days off / after work), I do enjoy a good night out, so if you're not shy of a late night on weekends, that'd be ideal.

I'm still not used to this website, but feel free to drop me a message and I'll (try to) get back to you, whether you're interested in rooming, grabbing a drink or two, etc. I've never even left England before without somebody to lead the way, so if you can help me not get horribly lost in the middle of nowhere on my first day in the country, that'd be much appreciated.

Hi everyone! I'll be arriving at the end of February and I'm super stoked about this and meeting everyone. I have been doing some research on the living situation and ideally I would like a/couple of roommate(s) just for the sake of rent costs but I know once I get there it'll be easier to check out. Feel free to connect with me or throw in some tips about this or anything SH-related with transparency, I would really appreciate! (:

Hi everyone,

I will be starting my journey with EF in October teaching at one of the kids and teens schools in Shanghai. Was wondering if anybody from here was starting around the same time? Drop me a line if so and say hi! Be good to connect in time for arrival :)

To be even clearer, your doctor can fax over an order for the X-ray, which should be all you need to have it done.

Hey Jack,

The chest X-ray is a little annoying, but you should be able to have it done. In my case, the radiology lab was in the same complex as the doctor's office. All I had to do was have the office fax over some info, explain to the radiology lab that I need the X-ray for a visa-related medical check, and I got it done without any hassle the same day. The nearest radiology lab might not be so conveniently located in your case, but you should be able to have the X-ray done. I would just ask your doctor about it and make sure they fax over any relevant info. My understanding is that you can usually just walk in for the X-rays (versus the wait for most medical checks), which will save you some time. It's a long, stressful process, but it's worth it when you start to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Good luck.
