Hello! I'm planning to arrive in Shanghai and teach at the Kids and Teens Center in October. Let me know if anyone wants a buddy exploring the city together! :^)

Hi everyone,

I will be starting my journey with EF in October teaching at one of the kids and teens schools in Shanghai. Was wondering if anybody from here was starting around the same time? Drop me a line if so and say hi! Be good to connect in time for arrival :)

To be even clearer, your doctor can fax over an order for the X-ray, which should be all you need to have it done.

Hey Jack,

The chest X-ray is a little annoying, but you should be able to have it done. In my case, the radiology lab was in the same complex as the doctor's office. All I had to do was have the office fax over some info, explain to the radiology lab that I need the X-ray for a visa-related medical check, and I got it done without any hassle the same day. The nearest radiology lab might not be so conveniently located in your case, but you should be able to have the X-ray done. I would just ask your doctor about it and make sure they fax over any relevant info. My understanding is that you can usually just walk in for the X-rays (versus the wait for most medical checks), which will save you some time. It's a long, stressful process, but it's worth it when you start to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Good luck.

Hey guys, I'm currently working on my visa application to start work in Shanghai in November. I am having difficulty with my medical form however, as my GP is reluctant to sign off on a chest x-ray without actually giving me one, and I cant have one done, as there is nothing wrong with me. I was wondering if anyone h]else had this issue? How did you guys get your medical completed? I came to China on a student visa previously, and did the medical when I arrived instead of before.

Hey guys my name is Engel Severino. I am expercted to arrive in Shanghai either September or October 2017. I have completed all the steps for the visa process and have to go to the Chinese consulate to authenticate my papers. However, there is one problem, I don't have a physical copy of my diploma. I just graduated in may and apparently it takes a few months for me to receive this document. I was wondering if there is any way I can still get my work permit and visa without this document. Is there anyone here that can give me any advise or options available?

Hello all!

Was just checking to see who else will be arriving to Shanghai on the 19th of July.  It is only a little over a week away and I am definitely excited to arrive and meet new people and explore the vast city.  It would be great to hear from anyone else arriving on that date.  I am not sure if people are planning on getting together the day of our arrival but I should hopefully be in by mid afternoon on that day and will be around.  If you want, feel free to email me to get a hold of me or message me on here.

Hope to see everyone soon in Shanghai!

Hi!!

My name is Kyla Bivins, and I am scheduled to move to Shanghai in mid to late August. (I am still waiting for my visa to process by the Chinese Gov, so I am not sure about the exact date).

I was wondering if anybody was looking for a house/suit/ room mate this upcoming school year?

Let me know :)

Hi Greg,

My name is Katie Wagnon, and I am the Director of Teacher Recruitment at EF.   Navigating the ever-changing visa landscape in China can be confusing and frustrating.  I’ve just sent you an email so that we can arrange a time to speak and we can sort out any challenges you are expecting in order to ensure you arrive as planned on the 19th.   Looking forward to speaking with you shortly.
