How did I miss the rodeo discussion?  Jennifer, I implore you to join me at some point for a rodeo awareness discussion.  Barrel racing is a sport where a horse and rider run around 3 barrels in a distinct pattern (can't break it) as fast as they can.  They're judged on speed primarily but lose time points if they knock over barrels or lose their hats.  Clowns are nowhere near barrel racing.  They are used to distract angry bulls/steers from riders who are bucked off in the bull riding competition.

Anyway - back to the discussion on arriving in Shanghai...

Dan - I can't believe you can play the Shamisen - well done!

So, Is a barrel racer like a rodeo clown - they distract the bulls so the riders can move away?

You're right! I have attended many rodeos and my mother was a professional barrel racer, but I have never participated in one myself. It's on the bucket list, though!

No, I have climbed the Great Wall  - a nice lie, isn't it! My cat's name is LaiLai and is very sweet. I enjoyed watching him chase a bug tonight! Hmmm. Since you've lived in Japan, I'm going to go with the Rodeo  - it just seems the most unlikely. :)

Mmm... I think Jennifer's lie is that she has a cat.  I donno why - but I totally believe that you never climbed the great wall.  I lived in Japan for 7 years and I totally never climbed Mt. Fuji... so I think that jives well.  And who doesn't like chocolate? (Answer: The only person that doesn't like chocolate is me.)

I posted mine in the forum, but I will post them here tooooo

1.  I have participated in a professional rodeo.

2. I have performed stand-up comedy in several clubs in America.

3.  I can play the Shamisen (It's like a Japanese guitar...banjo.. thing).

I'm Jennifer and I'm the trainer for Shanghai, I'll be leading your Onboarding training the week you arrive. I've lived in China for over 6 years and in Shanghai for about 8 months. I've been with EF the entire time and loving it.

Here are my truths and lies:

1. I love chocolate - maybe that's why I have no cavities or fillings.

2. I have never climbed the Great Wall - sad but true, seen it, took pictures of it from afar, but because of crowds we didn't go near it. A true regret - but I'll get there soon!

3. I love my cat - he's old and cranky, but is friendly and sweet.

How about your list?
