I keep hearing that Beijing is Westernized and conservitive at the same time. I'm not sure if I can bring anything tight or v-necked or anything that shows back or belly. How bad will the harassment…Continue

VPNs are a tricky business. There are several free and cheap ones out there but the quality is generally not so great with those. There are 2 VPNs that the recruitment team uses. About half of us use StrongVPN while the others use Astrill. Both have proven to be quite effective. I've had StrongVPN for two years and not had any problems with it on either my phone or my laptop.

Hello everyone!  I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good (inexpensive) VPN to use while in China.

I was wondering how many people, if anyone enrolls in a masters/doctorate program while teaching english in Beijing? I would love to have at least started, if not completed my masters of education by the end of the 1 year program. Is anyone thinking the same thing? Is anyone already enrolled?

Hi everyone!

My name is Cristia, and I'll be arriving in Beijing in late July/early August 2014.  I'm really excited (and a little nervous!) about coming to China, and I can't wait to meet everyone.  I don't know if there is a group yet for July/August arrivals, but if there is, I'd love to meet you all and hear other people's thoughts on moving to China.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jonathan, I will be leaving for Beijing in August 2014. I am excited to meet you all, and experience every facet of the Chinese culture together. This has been a dream of mine for years now, and I am excited to embark on this journey. Are there any people in this group that are leaving in August?

Something for you all to nibble on! Can't fit it on my wall due to word limit!
