Hi everyone! I will be going to Beijing to help out with the orientation for those arriving on July 30th. I look forward to meeting you all then but hope you'll take advantage of the icebreaker & question threads above to get to know each other prior to arrival. Hope you're getting excited because Beijing is awesome :)!

Hi all!! Im flying out to Beijing at the end of July from the UK. I am getting excited and nervous now- I can't believe how fast it has come around. Is anyone else arriving at the same time or flying from the UK? Im looking forward to meeting you all :)

Anyone flying out of Vancouver on July 1st? Perhaps seats can be juggled and acquaintances can be made. I fly from Denver to Vancouver and Vancouver to Beijing.

I will second Derek's message to back up all important documents!

Also - for people who have been to China before - Tim Martin as as well.  He's in your same arrival group and on EF teachers.

Cristia, I know Jacqui Drake who arrives in the 'Jing on July 2nd has also lived in China before. Mostly in Shijiazhuang but has been to Beijing several times so she knows the area decently well :).

Consider backing up all your carefully saved paperwork. My computer just crashed and now I get to pray that my documents are all recoverable.

Hey Cristia!  I know Alexi (who just joined this group) has lived in Beijing before as well.

Hi everyone!  Just thought I'd say a quick hello and say that I can't wait to meet you all!  I'll be arriving in Beijing at the end of July, and I'm excited (and a little nervous) about getting to know the city and learning to live in China.  I've been to Beijing before, but only for 3 months.  Has anyone else been to China before?

Hey guys - I'm getting on the seeking roommate bandwagon. I am interested in sharing an apartment in the Chaoyang district with 1 or more roommates.  If you're up for chatting about your living preferences, feel free to message me on ef-teachers.com or send me an email: simone.dube.levine@gmail.com. Looking forward to meeting you all soon!

Greetings from South Africa

Hope everyone is as excited as I am. Can't wait to hop on a plane and make my way to the land of China. Certainly look forward to meeting you all.
